NEW CANNABIS PRESCRIPTION FAQ (UPATED AUG 25)
Do I need a prescription to purchase cannabis?
  • Yes. Starting August 1st, 2025, a valid medical prescription issued by a licensed physician affiliated with a licensed clinic is required for all cannabis flower purchases in Thailand.
Where can I obtain a prescription? Can I get one directly from this dispensary?
  • Yes. OG Stores are medically supported by Wonderland Clinic .
  • You can receive a valid prescription in two ways:
    • On-site Consultation: Consult a doctor in person if available. You can check the live doctor schedule or ask staff. Walk-ins welcome. Discount or free consultations may be available based on purchase amount.
    • Telemedicine (coming soon): Book an appointment via our online system and consult a doctor remotely.
  • All prescriptions are legally valid, medically supervised, and compliant with Thai law.
Can I walk in and get a prescription at this dispensary?
  • Yes, when a doctor is present. You may also do a telemedicine session anytime, during working hours.
What is the cost of a prescription?
  • Standard consultation: 400 THB
  • Discounted: 200 THB with in-store purchase of 500–899 THB
  • Free with in-store purchase of 900 THB or more
How long does the process take?
  • Approximately 15 minutes per consultation (in-store or telemedicine).
What documents are required to purchase cannabis?
  • Thai National ID card or a valid foreign passport
  • Copies or digital versions are accepted, but original documents are preferred.
Can foreign nationals purchase cannabis?
  • Yes. With a valid passport and prescription.
What medical conditions qualify for cannabis use?
  • Conditions include:
    • Insomnia
    • Loss of appetite
    • Migraine
    • Parkinson’s disease
    • Sleep disorders
    • Chronic pain (including cancer-related)
    • Anxiety
  • The doctor must clearly state the condition on Form PorThor.33.
Do I need to provide medical records?
  • No. The doctor will assess your condition during the consultation.
Can I get a prescription if I’ve used cannabis before?
  • Yes. Prior use does not disqualify you. The doctor will assess your current medical condition and make a decision based on medical need.
Can I get a prescription if I am already taking prescription medication?
  • Yes. The doctor will evaluate your condition and review your current medications to determine suitability.
Can I get a prescription for someone else?
  • No. Prescriptions are only issued to the person present with valid ID.
What will I receive after I get my prescription?
  • You will receive a Cannabis Medical Card that records your prescription details and remaining balance.
  • You may take a photo of the prescription paper, but the original must stay on file at the dispensary for one year, as required by law.
Can I bring my prescription to another province?
  • Yes, but only if it was issued by Wonderland Clinic and has not yet been used at any other dispensary. The original prescription must remain on file at the first OG Retail location where it was filled, as required by Thai law. Prescriptions are not transferable to unrelated dispensaries.
How much cannabis can be purchased per prescription?
  • Up to 30 grams per 30-day prescription. You can buy in smaller amounts and return to purchase the remaining balance within that 30-day period.
Can I purchase more than 1 gram per day?
  • Yes. You may purchase up to 30 grams per month. Larger amounts may be prescribed if medically necessary and approved by the doctor with justification.
What happens if I use my full prescription early in the month?
  • You may schedule another consultation with the doctor, who will assess your condition. If medically justified, they may issue a new or extended prescription.
Can I reuse my prescription later in the month?
  • Yes. As long as the prescription is within the 30-day period and there is remaining balance, you may return and purchase the rest.
What if I forget my medical card or prescription copy?
  • No problem. If your prescription was issued by Wonderland Clinic via any OG Retail dispensary location, we can access your records. Your balance and details are tracked through our system. A quick reassessment may be required.
Can I request a specific strain or THC/CBD percentage?
  • Yes. During your consultation, you can discuss preferences or past experiences, and the doctor will tailor the recommendation accordingly.
Will the dispensary keep my original prescription?
  • Yes. We keep the original on file for one year as required by law. You will receive a medical card with your details.
Can dispensary staff issue or approve prescriptions?
  • No. Only licensed doctors from Wonderland Clinic stationed in OG retail outlets may evaluate and issue prescriptions. Dispensary staff will guide and assist you with the process.
Can I cancel or reschedule a telemedicine appointment?
  • Yes. Please give at least 1 hour notice before canceling or rescheduling.
Can I schedule a telemedicine appointment in advance?
  • Yes. Use the booking link or ask store staff for help.
Can I complete the process online?
  • Yes. You can:
    • Register online
    • Consult with a doctor via video call
    • Receive a valid digital prescription through Wonderland Clinic
What if I cannot present valid ID?
  • A valid Thai ID or foreign passport is required. We cannot proceed without it.
Can I transfer my prescription to a friend or family member?
  • No. Prescriptions are personal and non-transferable.
Can I request a refund for unused cannabis?
  • No. All sales are final.
What personal data is recorded?
  • Full name
  • ID/passport number
  • Nationality
  • Age
  • Medical condition
  • Dosage and quantity
  • All data is securely stored and protected under Thai privacy law.
Is my personal information kept confidential?
  • Yes. All medical and personal data is kept confidential and used only for medical and legal compliance.
What license number is required for my prescription?
  • Prescriptions show the issuing doctor’s medical license and clinic (Wonderland Clinic). The dispensary license is not required on the prescription under Thai law.
What official forms are used?
  • PorThor.33: Medical cannabis prescription
  • PorThor.28: Monthly usage report submitted to DTAM
What age is required to purchase cannabis?
  • You must be 20 years or older to purchase cannabis. No exceptions allowed.
Is cannabis consumption allowed on-site?
  • No. Smoking or consuming cannabis on the premises is strictly prohibited.
Can I buy cannabis for recreational purposes?
  • No. As of August 1, 2025, cannabis can only be purchased for approved medical conditions with a valid prescription.
Are cannabis edibles or extracts available?
  • Currently, only cannabis flower is available. The sale of edibles, extracts, or infused products is not permitted under current Thai law.
What if I lose my cannabis medical card?
  • We can look up your file and issue a replacement card after verifying your identity. Some locations may require a brief reassessment.
